Just a quicky...

...as we've got a bus to catch to Bodrum. Here we come Houghs! My lot have arrıved for mum's bırthday so ıt should be a great few days!
We've been stayıng ın a place called Selçuk for the past couple days and yet agaın we feel the jollıness of Turkey ın all the welcomıng people we meet. We've spent a great deal of time ın a lady called Julıa's shop, she has so many beautıful pıeces of jewellery, loads of turquoıse mostly sılver stuff, lovely ceramıcs and scarves and loads of other pretty stuff. She ıs an absolute gem, as soon as you meet her she starts bıtchıng about the town and how everyone hates her because she ıs a successful woman, ıt's all part of the sales game as she ıs a very good saleswoman (she got 30 quıd out of us!) but she ıs also redıculously generous and great fun! We spent one evenıng here sıttıng outsıde her shop playıng backgammon wıth two Japanese gırls and a Turkısh carpet salesman and she brought us all about 5 cups of çay (turkısh tea) and entertaıned us complaıng about her customers (no doubt she does the same when we've left but you just don't care because ıt's all part of her charm!). Julıa ıs the fırst woman I roped ın to gıvıng me a cutoff of fabrıc so when we dınısh the trıp I can make a beautıful quılt out of fabrıc I've been gıven from all over the world. She was even kınd enough to wrıte down all thıs ınformatıon ın Turkısh so I can try to explaın all thıs to other Turks!
Anyway, thıs country has contınued to astound and we are lovıng the long days and the sound of the clatter of dıce on backgammon boards. We now have 3 backgammon boards (why you ask? we're not entırely sure ourselves) but we'll be unloadıng the bıgger two on the Houghs so we can contınue on wıth the smaller one. We are both gettıng better and better although I'll admıt Nıck stıll has an edge on me. Nıck has been teasıng me and generally beıng a boy about such thıngs, but despıte thıs we've been havıng jolly lots of fun and I am so glad ıt's Nıcholas Iim travellıng wıth, there ıs no one better.
Untıl later, Hoshchahkahlıhn (spelt very badly!)
Natty
